Exciting news! Vicki will be reaching out to the community just beyond our doors in becoming the volunteer Spiritual Liaison for the Macdonald Campus, a position complementing the chaplaincy services offered by McGill University. Working alongside the nurse and psychologist on preventive health initiatives, she will offer support to both undergraduate and postgraduate students, including a weekly meditation session which has already garnered significant interest. Vicki will balance this new commitment of a few hours a week with her many services to Merging Waters and the community, and will continue to hold spiritual sessions at the Maxwell residence on a monthly basis.

Coffee House September 29th show will be Opening Act: Kim Adams and the House Cats, Main Act: Rob Lutes. Fantastic blues music, delicious cakes from TWIGGS and shopping at B24! Come early to get a seat. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Show starts at 8:00 p.m. $10.00 admission at the door.

Youth Singing Together

Merging Waters is known for its diverse musical talent and musical events. And now there are even more possibilities, as Keith Whittall and Victoria Moulton, known for their musical expertise and experience with youth, have offered to coordinate a youth singing group for Merging Waters in the Fall -an opportunity for young people (8 and up) to sing together. It would be very collaborative, with the young people helping to make decisions as to the music. Please spread the word. Those interested should contact Keith Whittall or Victoria Moulton at 514-425-2136 or

Meditation chez Vicki starting back up September 21st! Thursdays from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m.! Individuals who meditate seem to feel better, do better, and find that the practice sustains them in their personal and professional lives. Why not give meditation a try?

Do you like to spread good news on a Sunday morning? Union Church could use a couple of new volunteers to stand up at the mic and deliver the Community News at the start of worship, only a few times during each liturgical year. Prerequisite: willingness to speak concisely in public and show up a few minutes before the service to receive last-minute additions. Please contact Christine at to add your name to the roster!

Yoga for the mind, body and soul:

Hello all future yogis/yoginis. Once again a gentle Hatha yoga course will be offered this Fall. The course will run for 12 weeks. Classes will be from 7:00-8:00pm on Tuesdays in Adair Hall. (NB: For days when there is soup pot in Adair Hall arrangements will be made to have yoga in the sanctuary at 6pm.) There are a couple of options for payment. You can pay 7.50$/class and pay as you go. The other option is 80$ payed on the first class for 12 classes.

Union Walking Group

An opportunity for those in the community of Union and Ste-Anne to walk together to improve fitness and endurance, while in the company of like-minded individuals. For certain people, it may serve as preparation for more challenging hikes, either locally or internationally.  We are looking at meeting Monday mornings at 10:00 at the corner of Christie and College, at the north corner of the 4-hour parking lot in Ste-Anne just west of the gas station (as it is difficult to park at Union on a weekday).  We would start with a 2km hike, and gradually increase. Participants should dress for the weather and bring a water bottle. We would start on Monday Sept. 18th.

Contact us if you are interested in walking with us.
