Finger Food Potluck Lunch this Sunday after church! Bring with you your favourite luncheon foods that can be shared and eaten without cutlery! Crudités and dip, sandwiches, cookies, cut-up fruit or cheese all qualify as finger foods!

Sunday, October 15th is World Food Day.  We will be hearing from Sarah Levesque, the director of “Corneille de Pain/Bread Basket” during our Church  service.  She will enlighten us about their community kitchen, “Ugly But Loved” project and how you can get involved whether through volunteering or donating money. Please bring a contribution of canned goods and let’s celebrate together with a “Finger Food Potluck” at Beaurepaire United following our Church service.  We have so much to be thankful for so let’s be generous  and share with others.

UNION’S FALL FOODIE SALE

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 22, 2017

 

What with the abundance of veggies in the local markets these days, we thought it would be a good time to make up some wonderful, tasty soups to put in the freezer for a cold day or a day when you are too busy to cook.  We are looking for both Soup makers and soup buyers.   Bonnie Norris  and Helen Fyles have a list of tried and true Soup Recipes you can use or perhaps you have a favourite  chili, baked beans or soup of your own to make.  Just contact Bonnie at bonnie.norris@sympatico.ca or 514-457-3568  if you can help and you will receive a copy of the recipes and free 1 L or ½ L containers for freezing.   1 l and ½ l containers are now available from the downstairs kitchen at Union.   Take what you need and make a note on the sheet available.  The date of the Sale will start Oct. 22nd, 11:30 a.m. following Union’s Church Service.  Please bring your soups to Union Church’s freezer clearly labelled on or before Oct. 22nd.   Proceeds to go to the work of Union Church.

Be sure to let your friends and acquaintances in on these great deals on quality products, while supporting Union financially in its partnership with BUC. Meditation chez Vicki -Thursdays from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m.! Individuals who meditate seem to feel better, do better, and find that the practice sustains them in their personal and professional lives. Why not give meditation a try?

 

A chair yoga course in Union’s Adair Hall started last Friday. Every Friday from 4:30-5:15, you are invited to join us for a gentle class of modified poses, sun salutations, and breathing exercises for rest, renewal and positivity! No yoga mat required. This is a free yoga course done as outreach so you do not need to bring money to the class. If you are interested simply show up for 4:30 on October 6th or call Bryson Davis at 514-980-0905 or email: bdpincourt@gmail.com. NB: On the last Friday of every month there will be no class offered because of coffee house in Adair hall.

 

 

 

 

The gentle Hatha yoga course is still on-going!. Classes are from 7:00-8:00pm on Tuesdays in Adair Hall. (NB: For days when there is soup pot in Adair Hall arrangements will be made to have yoga in the sanctuary at 6pm.) You can pay 7.50$/class if you are only starting now
