Children are a big part of the life of Union
Church...

The main objective of our children’s programming is to help children to
know that they are loved unconditionally by God, and to learn the
way of living taught by Jesus. We try to support each child with opportunities
to learn and grow into caring, confident youth and adults

Children are welcomed at every church service. To begin, they can sit with
their parents or at tables at the front where they can draw and color
as they listen.

During Children’s Time, they gather at the front for a story or discussion
with the Minister, and a song, after which they go out to Sunday School.

Sunday School starts with singing, with clapping and dancing along with the
guitar, and a prayer. Later, classes of different age groups meet
to read stories, make crafts and learn about Jesus and the love of
God.

Throughout the year there are church services and events lead by, or for, children.
The skating party and church picnic are always popular and the Flower
Sunday service in the spring and Mitten Party service before Christmas,
both led by the Sunday School, are highlights.
